We did it!

UK Forest School is 25 years old this year, and that is definitely something worth celebrating. To mark the occasion a new Annual Forest School Day was launched. The Forest School Day project was created to encourage, the forest school community to connect, share and celebrate 25 years of UK Forest School and of course to celebrate it in a Forest School Values way.
The first annual day was held on October 12th, 2018. It was a great success with local and community celebrations being held across the UK. The Forest School Day website was viewed over 3,000 times in its first few days, over 200 individuals directly engaged with the project through its website, Facebook and Twitter accounts. In fact, one Facebook post had a reach of 14,300!

25-year logo competition winner
We had a fabulous response to the 25-year logo competitions, with some beautiful designs. It was very hard to decide on a winner. We were so impressed we felt we had to share with you as many of the entries as we could in this short animation.
We are so pleased to announce that the winner of the Muddy Faces and Woodlands.co.uk 25-year competition was Lilia from Hertfordshire.
She wins a camping cooking kit for her forest school. It was a unanimous decision, we felt the picture captured the joy of forest school from a child’s perspective. With lovely vibrant colours, nature, campfire, birds nesting it even had a wonderful sun to represent the day. Well done Lilia.
